L\u2019inauguration du panneau d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de la Chapelle, install\u00e9 sur le terrain du Club nautique, a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite vendredi le 26 juillet dernier<\/strong>.
\nCe panneau, qui fait partie du parcours historique de Saint-Raymond, a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019instigation de la Ville de Saint-Raymond et de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 du patrimoine de Saint-Raymond. Madame Christiane Huot en a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 le texte, r\u00e9vis\u00e9 par Lyne Beaupr\u00e9 et Antoine Lacoursi\u00e8re. Le graphisme et la production du panneau ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faits par des gens de Saint-Raymond.
\nC\u2019est en 1942 que la Chapelle, nomm\u00e9e Notre-Dame de l\u2019Assomption, est construite sur la rive du lac Sept-\u00celes. Elle sera agrandie et d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9e de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 du chemin du lac Sept-\u00celes en 1964. Pendant plusieurs \u00e9t\u00e9s, on y c\u00e9l\u00e8brera deux messes par fin-de-semaine et parfois m\u00eame les matins de semaine lorsque le c\u00e9l\u00e9brant r\u00e9sidait au lac Sept-\u00celes.
\nDevant la faible rel\u00e8ve de pr\u00eatres et le d\u00e9clin de la pratique religieuse, la chapelle sera d\u00e9sacralis\u00e9e en 2016. En 2017, le maire de la Ville de Saint-Raymond, M. Daniel Dion, a d\u00fb prendre la difficile d\u00e9cision de d\u00e9molir la Chapelle. Le terrain, acquis par la Ville, sera toutefois en quelque sorte remis \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 qui peut utiliser les espaces de stationnement. Et, d\u2019ici quelques ann\u00e9es, M. Dion envisage la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un parc big\u00e9n\u00e9rationnel dont pourra profiter toute la population.
